Marcel Breuer
Marcel Breuer is an iconic Hungarian architect and designer of the 20th century. Not completing his studies in sculpture at the Vienna Academy, he went to Weimar and taught at the Bauhaus, the famous school of architecture and applied arts. In the 1920s, he became interested in tubular steel, which would become a major element of his creations. His "Wassily" chair is considered to be the first chair ever made of steel tube, and is an icon of modern design.
