Kata 5602

Light in both form and environmental footprint, Kata has been designed with sustainability at its heart.

The first solid wood armchair to be produced by Arper, Kata draws its inspiration from hand-woven wooden and straw chairs to create a new universal typology that incorporates today's ecological sustainability solutions, with features that are both graphic and warm. Kata finds its balance in juxtaposition - a tenuous nuance between material and silhouette, softness and solidity, tradition and technology.

Kata combines traditional craftsmanship with soft technology to create an elegant and distinctive lounge chair that lends itself to a wide range of uses, both indoors and outdoors: from the intimacy and warmth of domestic environments to the demands of communal spaces.

The solid wood structure, here in FSC-certified Robinia (indoor Kata 5602), is also available in outdoor Robinia (Kata 5603) or FSC-certified Oak (indoor Kata 5600/5601).

These structures all support a shell made from delicately woven 3D fabric, specially developed for the Kata project. The covering is made from post-consumer polyester yarns that have been turned into light, durable fibres. The fabric has been technologically designed to adapt perfectly to the seat frame, reducing material waste to a minimum. Two types are available: as in this case, a 3D mesh with a graphic pattern and internal micro-padding (Kata 5600/Kata 5602) or a 3D mesh with a stripe pattern (Kata 5601/Kata 5603).

Optional: Additional back and seat cushions can be customised with a wide selection of Arper fabrics and 3D Knit coverings in a graphic pattern (indoor Kata 5604) or stripe pattern (indoor Kata 5605/outdoor 5606).
