Vico Magistretti

Designer

Vico Magistretti was born in Milan in 1920 into a family of architects of Italian origins. In 1939 he joined the Milan Polytechnic School but had to leave for Switzerland to avoid deportation. Obtaining his diploma as an architect after the war, he began his career with architect Paolo Chessa in his father's firm, and carried out architecture and design projects. He teaches at the Royal College of Art in London and at the Domus Academy in Milan.

His simple style allows his creations to be exhibited at MoMA and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
