Danish designer, Verner Panton was born in 1926 in Gentofte. After training as an architectural engineer, he graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen.
He collaborated with Arne Jacobsen before opening his own studio in 1955. Its most famous achievement remains the "Panton" Chair, the first chair manufactured by injection moulding of polyurethane foam.
