Eames Plastic Armchair | DAX Seat upholstered

The Plastic Chairs designed by Charles and Ray Eames were the first plastic chairs to be produced using industrial methods. Their organically shaped shells can be combined with a variety of different bases. The DAX (Dining Height Armchair X-Base) chair has a four-legged tubular steel base with a discreet appearance.

The seat shell, made from 100% recyclable recycled RE polypropylene, is complemented here by a fully upholstered seat: a fully upholstered interior made from moulded polyurethane foam, covered with fabric attached to the shell with a loop. The white 04 version, which cannot be made from the new RE material, will continue to be produced in conventional polypropylene. Like the seat shells of the Eames Plastic Armchair RE, the white version is 100% recyclable at the end of its life. Due to the composition of the recycled RE material, the colours of the RE polypropylene seat shell may show very subtle pigment stains.
