The Plastic Armchair by Charles and Ray Eames is a typical example of a chair whose shell can be combined with different bases. The wooden base of the Dining Height Armchair Wood Base (DAW) creates an interesting contrast with the plastic shell.
The seat shell is made from 100% recyclable recycled RE polypropylene, with a seat cushion screwed to the underside. The white 04 version, which cannot be made from the new RE material, will continue to be produced in conventional polypropylene. Like the seat shells of the Eames Plastic Armchair RE, the white version is 100% recyclable at the end of its life. Due to the composition of the recycled RE material, the colours of the RE polypropylene seat shell may show very subtle pigment stains.
