From the very beginning of TOLIX, Xavier Pauchard demonstrated a unique vision. Faced with scrap metal that was considered unusable at the time, he chose to turn it into a resource. A pioneer of simplicity and the fight against waste, he was already advocating a frugal and responsible approach to industrial production nearly a century ago.

It was in this spirit that, in 1935, he designed the Mouette collection, originally created for his own children. Comprising an armchair and a side table, this collection was born from the careful reuse of metal scraps, transformed with the same high standards as pieces intended for adults.

The Mouette armchair was inspired by the seat of the TOLIX H stool. Thanks to precise folding, angled bends and riveting, it has a simple yet elegant silhouette. Although designed for children, it requires the same level of technical expertise and precision in its manufacture as the brand's iconic models.

About the finishes:

- Powder-coated steel: Available in a range of natural colours with a glossy finish, powder-coated steel offers a luminous and uniform depth. Applied by powder coating, the paint revives the historic finish of TOLIX furniture and guarantees excellent durability for indoor use.

- Raw varnished steel: Raw varnished steel reveals the material in its most sincere form. Marks, nuances and irregularities bear witness to the manual work and the life of the metal. The varnish protects without altering, preserving the raw appearance while extending durability for indoor use.
