Inland AV22 | 2-seater sofa, Torbjørn Anderssen and Espen Voll set out to design a sofa that would offer the utmost comfort within a clearly defined architectural structure.

Oslo-based partners Torbjørn Anderssen and Espen Voll have helped put Norway on the global design map since joining forces in 2009. Rather than define themselves and confine themselves to a specific way of being, Anderssen & Voll prefer to be open. They develop designs based on emotion. Their overall aim is to create designs that have a soul. Animating something inanimate. "We're not dogmatic about it," say Anderssen and Voll, "We're very open. We start drawing and we see the piece take on its own personality. It's almost as if we breathe life into it.

With this vision in mind, they have created Inland, a low, deep sofa with high armrests and a base in warm black steel or polished aluminium, which gives it the impression of floating, a visual sensation and comfort that you can enjoy from the AV21 armchair to the AV22 2-seater and AV23 3-seater sofas, right through to the AV32 footstool.

Production process
The frame is made from solid beech and plywood, then covered with HR foam, quilts and polyester wadding. The metal legs are milled and welded, then powder-coated.
