Eero Saarinen designed the revolutionary Womb Chair at the request of Florence Knoll, who wanted ‘a chair that looked like a basket filled with pillows — something she could really snuggle into.’ This masterpiece of modern design, which has become a mid-century classic, supports countless positions and offers an oasis of comforting comfort, hence its name.
The Womb Chair Relax model takes up this iconic concept while offering a slightly higher seat, with a seat height of 43.5 cm, compared to 38 cm for the Womb Chair Medium model. This difference allows the comfort to be adapted to the user's body type and seating preferences, while retaining the enveloping and welcoming spirit imagined by Saarinen.
For optimal comfort, the chair can be accompanied by its matching footrest, which must be ordered in the same version as the chosen chair.
