Created in 1971, Panthella is one of Verner Panton's most famous designs. The basic lighting principle was to create a lamp whose base and shade acted as a reflector. The lamps light source is hidden behind a hemispherical shade of milky white acrylic and a white trumpet-shaped base contributes to a superb distribution of light as well as a well-balanced and organic form. Panthella emits a soft, pleasant downward light.
