In a contemporary interpretation, Jaime Hayon playfully reinvents the traditional Asian lantern. Paper lanterns have a centuries-old history in Asia, symbolising both wealth and modesty, with specific colours, shapes and sizes taking on particular meanings. Here, Hayon sets aside cultural formalities to create a series of all-white lamps.

Each piece is meticulously handcrafted using rice paper, fusing different sizes and shapes. The series consists of three separate lantern versions and a table lamp, all in ivory-white rice paper with black-stained oak details.
