The Nuage vase form first appeared in the work of Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec in 2002. Evoking a cloud, the pattern was originally produced as a plastic shelf module that can be assembled in groups or large configurations. Eight tubular cavities are drilled into the flat surfaces of the modular element, defining the outer contours of the form. Over the years, the Bouroullec brothers have varied this form and incorporated it repeatedly into their graphic work.
