AN ICON OF THE 20TH CENTURY
In 1921, Bernard-Albin Gras created a range of lamps for industry and design offices. The GRAS lamp is astonishing for its ergonomics and the simplicity of its mechanism - no screws, no soldering - which makes it extremely robust. But Bernard-Albin Gras was also one of the first designers of the 20th century: not content with innovation, he added an original functional aesthetic to his creations, particularly in the design of the bases and connecting rods.
Very quickly, Le Corbusier, seduced by the modernity of his design and its quality of use, adopted the GRAS range of lamps and incorporated them into his agency as well as into his numerous projects around the world. The Gras lamp became a legend.
N°205 was originally designed for offices. It is stable with its unique triangular base made from cast steel. Its qualities: elegant-graphic-well balanced-playful.
The Gras lamp series now includes more than 25 different models.
