In 1921, Bernard-Albin Gras creates a range of lamps for industry and design offices. The Gras lamp is astonishing by its ergonomics and the simplicity of its mechanics - no screws, no soldering - which gives it a robustness to any test.
But Bernard-Albin Gras is also one of the first designers of the twentieth century: not content to innovate, he adds to his creations an original functional aesthetic, particularly in the design of the bases and rods.
Very quickly, Le Corbusier, seduced by the modernity of its design and its quality of use, adopts the range of Gras lamps and integrates it in his agency as well as in his numerous achievements around the world. The range of Gras outdoor seaside lamp in stainless steel 316 is a special range: these lights can illuminate not the walls but a living space, such as a table on a terrace. At night, the exterior becomes an extension of the house.
The N°304 classic outdoor is the small version of the N°304 XL Outdoor. Perfect for a balcony or a small terrace, an outdoor or indoor shower room.
