Find out more about this product
Designed in 1969 by Verner Panton, the VP Globe is without doubt the designer's most emblematic luminaire. This decorative pendant features an outer sphere in transparent acrylic, enclosing five internal reflectors suspended by three steel chains. Touches of red and blue add the finishing touch to this futuristic sculptural design, highlighting Panton's unique DNA.
A little-known aspect of Verner Panton's inspiration for lighting is his connection with Venice. A keen explorer and traveller, Panton was particularly fond of the Italian city, which he visited on several occasions. During one of these visits, he was captivated by the slightly pinkish light of the city's old street lamps. This desire to recreate this unique atmosphere has found its way into his lighting creations, of which the VP Globe is one of the finest expressions.
Thanks to its special layered design combined with the acrylic globe, the VP Globe diffuses a soft, warm and enveloping light, typical of Panton's creations. True to its creative approach, the VP Globe is available in different configurations and sizes, exploring a variety of materials and expressions.
Available in three sizes and different interior reflector colours, each VP Globe is hand-assembled in Denmark, guaranteeing exceptional craftsmanship.
