An original design by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe: the frame is stamped with the Knoll logo and the designer's signature, guaranteeing authenticity for life.
Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's timeless masterpiece is back. With its elegant cantilevered form, the Tugendhat™ armchair, here in its armless variant, embodies the technical precision and artistic intent that characterise all of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's creations. The steel frame is refined in both construction and materiality, while the thick cushions offer a high degree of comfort and welcoming informality. This armchair was designed in 1929 for the Villa Tugendhat in Brno, Czech Republic.
The stainless steel frame is available in ultra-matt black or polished chrome, hand-glossed for a mirror finish. The Spinneybeck® leather straps are attached to the frame with aluminium rivets. For the cushions, which are removable and made from soft polyurethane of variable density with a polyester wadding pre-cover, choose from Spinneybeck® full-grain Italian leathers or a range of architectural expressions from Knoll Textiles, guaranteeing thick, comfortable seating.
Considered a historic and iconic masterpiece, this chair embodies the quintessence of modern design. Its artistic and technical value, recognised and celebrated over the decades, makes it more than just a piece of furniture: it's a collector's item that enriches not only your space, but also your cultural heritage.
Beyond its investment potential, the Tugendhat™ armchair offers exceptional comfort, inviting moments of relaxation and daily pleasure. With its thick cushions and ergonomic design, it ensures luxurious seating that will continue to gain prestige and value over time. By choosing this chair, you're investing in a lasting legacy that combines aesthetics, comfort and quality.
