Designed in 1971 by Achille Castiglioni and Pio Manzù, the Parentesi embodies a free-spirited and ingenious approach to lighting, halfway between a pendant light and a floor lamp.
Its design is based on a steel cable stretched from floor to ceiling, along which a 58 cm vertical tube slides. This simple and innovative system allows for smooth adjustment of the light source’s height, offering great freedom of use and adaptability to the space.
The moulded elastomer head houses a spotlight-type bulb, which can be adjusted as required, allowing the light to be directed with precision. The whole piece expresses a technical and minimalist aesthetic, where each element serves a clear function. Available in Parentesi (On/Off) or Parentesi D (with dimmer, requires a dimmable E27 LED bulb).
With its long cable and lightweight structure, Parentesi fits equally well into residential spaces and contemporary architectural environments, providing a flexible and graphic lighting solution.
