Niwaki

The BrichetZiegler studio has carved this light with mastery and precision. They were inspired by Niwaki, the traditional Japanese art of carving a tree in the ground to recreate in the garden the different landscapes admired in nature. Evoking an artificial plant, Niwaki presents fluid and organic forms. The large shade seems to have been carved by the wind and the elements. Swaying forward, it seems to float and glide through the air like a branch weighed down by its foliage. The finishes of the Niwaki lamp reflect the balance between industry and craft. Niwaki evokes the gesture, poetry and precision of the manufacturing process.
