Created by Space Copenhagen — the duo Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou — the Loafer SC24 armchair was originally designed for Copenhagen's legendary SAS Royal Hotel. The designers were asked to create a seat that would blend harmoniously into the hotel's vast and elegant lobby, while also lending it a sense of intimacy.
‘The lobby of the SAS Royal Hotel is a huge and very elegant space,’ explains Peter Bundgaard Rützou. ‘We wanted to create an armchair that would structure this volume, introducing a feeling of closeness and warmth into a very open environment.’
The result is Loafer: an armchair with enveloping lines and a soft, welcoming presence, designed to offer comfort and refinement. Its full silhouette and balanced proportions allow it to fit equally well in hotel spaces and private interiors, where it adds a warm, contemporary touch.
