Designed in 1957 by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, Liberia Pensile was created from the ambition to reduce a bookcase to its purest expression. After several years of refinement, it was introduced to the public in 1966, embodying an approach in which every element serves a clear purpose.

Now offered by Karakter x Cassina, this design is based on a remarkably simple construction: four solid oak shelves suspended by two steel cables, secured to a single wall anchoring point. Its floating silhouette highlights books and decorative objects while providing an original storage solution for both residential and professional interiors.

Maximum load per shelf, depending on the wall type:
- Double plasterboard wall: 2 kg
- Hollow brick wall: 3 kg
- Solid brick wall: 13 kg
- Concrete wall: 13 kg
