Designed by Philippe Starck for Cassina and presented among the 2026 collection novelties at the Salone del Mobile in Milan, Hotte takes inspiration from traditional harvesting baskets used in orchards. This artisanal reference is expressed through a rattan structure combined with hand-woven natural willow, requiring careful material selection and specialised craftsmanship.
Vertical rattan inserts, visible knots at the ends of the armrests and the enveloping backrest highlight the complexity of the manufacturing process. The combination of natural weaving and natural Voyage leather emphasises the contrast between materials while reinforcing the handcrafted character of the piece.
