Eames Plastic Side Chair | DSX upholstered seat cushion

The Plastic Chairs designed by Charles and Ray Eames were the first plastic chairs to be produced using industrial methods. Their organically shaped shells can be combined with a variety of different bases. The DSX (Dining Height Side Chair X-Base) chair, with its sober aesthetic, has a four-legged tubular steel base and an organically shaped side chair shell.

The seat shell is made from 100% recyclable recycled RE polypropylene, with a seat cushion screwed to the underside. The white 04 version, which cannot be made from the new RE material, will continue to be produced in conventional polypropylene. Like the seat shells of the Eames Plastic Side Chair RE, the white version is 100% recyclable at the end of its life. Due to the composition of the RE recycled material, the colours of the RE polypropylene seat shell may show very subtle pigment stains.

In the same series: The DSX Eames plastic Side chair is also available in versions without seat cushion (art. 440 310 00) or with full seat upholstery covered in fabric, attached to the shell with a strap (art. 440 312 00).
