Designed by Franco Albini in 1940 for his Milan residence and reissued by Cassina in 2011, Veliero is one of the most emblematic works of twentieth-century Italian design. Long produced only as a unique prototype, it underwent extensive research and development to make production possible while remaining faithful to the original concept.

Its structure combines solid ash uprights, glass shelves and a system of tension rods that creates a distinctive visual balance. The composition gives books and objects the appearance of floating freely within the space.

A true manifesto of Franco Albini’s experimental approach, Veliero preserves the formal rigour and structural research of the original project. Reissued by Cassina, it remains a landmark piece in the history of contemporary furniture design.

A limited edition of 100 pieces is also available in black-stained ash with stainless-steel caps and metal elements.
