Uchiwa Quilted: Comfort and Style by Doshi Levien
The Uchiwa Quilted armchair, designed by Doshi Levien, combines functionality and aesthetics. Inspired by traditional Japanese hand fans, this armchair stands out with its open and gentle shape, providing a generous space to relax.
Uchiwa Quilted features a solid oak base and molded foam interior, specially designed to offer comfortable support with a padded seat. Its sleek and taut design offers a modern and minimalist look.
Available in a variety of fabrics or leathers and wood finishes, Uchiwa Quilted easily adapts to different environments and preferences. This armchair is both a practical choice for daily comfort and an aesthetic piece to enhance your living space.
With Uchiwa Quilted, enjoy a balance between traditional form and contemporary comfort, designed to seamlessly integrate into various interior decors. The Uchiwa collection also includes an ottoman [Uchiwa Ottoman] and a non-padded lounge chair [Uchiwa].
Construction:
The wooden base consists of 4 cylindrical legs, 2 sidebars, and 2 crossbars assembled with 2 wooden pins at each connection. The base is CNC-milled to fit the molded reinforced polypropylene shell. The molded reinforced polypropylene shell is pre-attached to the frame using 4 machine screws and features a front molded HR polyurethane foam part. For the quilted version, the molded HR polyurethane foam is sectioned and glued in individual blocks to the shell. A wadding layer is glued to the foam block for extra volume. The front textile is pre-sewn and clipped onto the shell.
