In 1955, Jean Pauchard was searching for his ideal table. ‘It's the legs that count,’ he said. After an initial model with more linear proportions, he refined the design from 1960 onwards to give it its current, more slender silhouette. The T55 Table was born.

The Rectangular Table 55 echoes the iconic architecture of the original model: tapered, conical legs made entirely of steel, which give it a visual lightness while affirming the robustness of its construction. Their precise design is the model's signature feature and embodies TOLIX's technical standards.

Available in three sizes — 140 × 80 cm, 200 × 95 cm and 240 × 100 cm — it is suitable for a variety of uses. As a desk, large meeting table or generous dining table, it structures the space with simplicity and elegance, both in a residential interior and in a professional environment.

Available with two types of tabletops, it reveals two distinct expressions of the project: a steel version, in keeping with the historic model, affirming its industrial character and high resistance; or a solid oak version, delicately bevelled to preserve the integrity of the original design. Its construction combines a three-ply inner panel and two continuous outer plies, made by a cabinetmaker from Morvan, guaranteeing excellent stability over time. (PEFC-certified wood.)

- Raw varnished steel: Raw varnished steel reveals the material in its most authentic form. Marks, nuances and irregularities bear witness to the manual work and the life of the metal. The varnish protects without altering, preserving the raw appearance while extending durability for indoor use.
