Seley

The seley chair is the result of two years of work and collaboration with the Swiss designer Frédéric Dedelley. The project took shape according to the basic concept of horgenglarus chairs developed in the 1920s, which is still relevant today: at that time, the company succeeded in manufacturing a solid curved seat frame from a single piece of wood, which allowed the legs to be firmly attached. The result was a sturdy and stable chair that does not wobble, even under heavy loads. The spacers, used on conventional bentwood chairs, were not necessary.
The seley model consists of a minimum of elements: two front and two rear legs with a square cross section, a seat and a backrest. As usual with horgenglarus, the seat frame and legs are made of solid wood. The backrest and armrests made of plywood give the chair continuity. The thermal bending and the cut make it a unique model: a comfortable and ergonomic shell. Its design does not force you to sit in a particular position: the generous seat and the functional harmony between the backrest and armrests without corners or edges allow you to turn easily to the right or to the left. Like an armchair, the seley chair is flexible, comfortable and informal, although it looks more elegant and graceful. Made of leather or stretch wool fabric, the seat cushion is spring loaded for maximum comfort. The seley chair is available in oak, walnut or beech wood, which can be painted in any shade. The color of the fabric or leather is available to match the color of the wood. The spring seat cushion is part of the basic equipment of each seat.
