Designed by Verner Panton and reissued by Karakter x Cassina to mark the centenary of the designer’s birth, Peacock Chair preserves the complexity and essential characteristics of the original project. Its polished stainless steel mesh structure combines visual transparency, industrial manufacturing and formal exploration.
The chair consists of a truncated-cone base supporting a large metal basket that accommodates seven cushions. One fixed central cushion is complemented by six removable cushions, creating the distinctive composition imagined by Verner Panton.
The basket can rotate on its base to provide different seating configurations. Reissued in keeping with the original design, this model reflects the experimental approach of the Danish designer and his interest in sculptural forms applied to furniture.
