Generic A | Polypropylene chair

Generic is an ambitious project with profoundly ethical connotations, where contemporary design strives to achieve new goals by putting creativity at the service of the general public.

Thanks to Philippe Starck's creative concept, Kartell has identified the ‘generics’ of community seating. The launch of Generic A, a chair designed for office environments and available in six matt finishes, marks a significant step forward. It features a high back, wide braces and a functional design. What's more, Generic A is also suitable for outdoor use, and can be stacked 6-high, making it flexible and space-saving.

Polypropylene: This thermoplastic polymer, made from the monomer propylene, is one of the most widely used plastics in the world thanks to its versatile properties. Modified polypropylene, on the other hand, refers to polypropylene (PP) that has been altered or improved to impart specific properties or to enhance certain characteristics compared with standard polypropylene.
