The Fun collection is considered by many to be one of Verner Panton's most emblematic masterpieces of lighting design. Since 1964, this unique lamp has been the source of joy and stories.

The small Fun 1STM floor lamp is distinguished by its airy, poetic design, perfectly reflecting Panton's intention to create a lamp that gives off a soft, enchanting light, while blending harmoniously into colourful interiors. The inspiration for this lamp came from Panton's desire to work with new and surprising materials. After initially exploring metal, on a trip to Malaysia he discovered delicate shells with a vibrant, pearly sheen. When suspended, these shell discs create a striking luminous effect and produce a subtle, soothing sound when moved by the air.

At the time, the UN was looking for ways to promote employment in developing countries. Panton saw an opportunity to contribute to this effort by using these shells for his Fun lamps.

Today, the Fun collection is available in several versions of pendant and ceiling lamps, as well as floor lamps, small floor lamps, table lamps and wall lamps. A lasting tribute to the ingenuity and creative spirit of Verner Panton.
