Find out more about this product

Hans Bellmann's einpunktstuhl chair is very familiar to us today, although it represents a bold alternative to the popular domestic style of the early 1950s. It represents a milestone in Swiss design history and a high point in Bellmann's work. The interest of the model lies in the unique single screw fastening - which gave it its name - and in the flexible plywood backrest, whose perforated shell in the center provides a pleasantly light feeling. Like the traditional Swiss chair Stabelle, this opening also serves as a handle and makes the chair ergonomic. The Bellmann chair consists of only a few parts. It is inexpensive to manufacture and particularly light with a weight of 3.8 kilos.
The designs of Hans Bellmann (1911-1990), influenced by his studies at the Bauhaus in Dessau and Berlin, as well as his work in the architecture office of Mies van der Rohe, are characterized by a very sparing use of materials. The visionary is one of the most renowned pioneers of classical modernism in Switzerland. The "einpunktstuhl 4015 ST" chair has been awarded the "Die gute Form" prize several times.
