Eames Plastic Armchair | DAL upholstered seat cushion

The shells of the Eames Plastic Chair can be combined with different bases. Charles and Ray Eames designed the DAL (Dining Height Armchair La Fonda Base) in 1961 for the famous New York restaurant La Fonda del Sol, for which Alexander Girard, a friend of the couple, designed the interior. With a central column made up of four bars leading to a four-legged base, it is the most unconventional and elegant of the bases designed by Charles and Ray Eames.

The seat shell is made from 100% recyclable recycled RE polypropylene, with a seat cushion screwed to the underside. The white 04 version, which cannot be made from the new RE material, will continue to be produced in conventional polypropylene. Like the seat shells of the Eames Plastic Armchair RE, the white version is 100% recyclable at the end of its life. Due to the composition of the RE recycled material, the colours of the RE polypropylene seat shell may show very subtle pigment stains.
