Designed by Charles & Ray Eames for Cassina, the Dot Pattern Light brings to life a graphic pattern created in 1947 for a textile design competition organised by the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Although Charles and Ray Eames had explored its application to lighting as early as the late 1940s, this project had never been produced. Developed in collaboration with the Eames Office, this collection now brings that original vision to life.
Available in two sizes, this pendant light combines modern technology with the graphic language conceived by Charles and Ray Eames, transforming their composition of lines and dots into a light fitting with a sculptural presence.
