Elegance in the service of modernity.
The Belair chair is the result of a collaboration between the internationally acclaimed architecture studio Herzog & de Meuron and Switzerland's oldest chair and table manufacturer, Horgenglarus, and continues a history of excellence and innovation. Initially designed for the Volkshaus in Basel, this emblematic collaboration has entered a new era with the creation of the Belair model: a tribute to classic design that is resolutely forward-looking.
Inspired by the historic Volkshaus model, the Belair chair reinvents design codes. Its graceful lines, sculpted legs and exceptionally slender frame bear witness to uncompromising craftsmanship. The seat frame, made from solid bentwood, adopts a subtly undulating silhouette thanks to a technical mastery that combines aesthetics with robustness. This innovative approach eliminates the need for traditional stabilisers, giving the Belair a refined, minimalist look.
Made from Swiss wood from the forests of the Jura, each Belair chair is the result of expert craftsmanship combining manual work and cutting-edge technology. Available in beech and ash, it comes in a wide range of finishes, allowing you to personalise it to your own taste.
The Belair chair embodies the best of two worlds: authentic Swiss craftsmanship and cutting-edge contemporary design. With it, every space becomes a showcase for elegance and well-thought-out simplicity.
