Basilea

Designed by Werner Abt for the 150th anniversary of the City of Basel's Green Spaces Department, Basilea was to have all the characteristics of a piece of park furniture: weatherproof and vandal-proof, inexpensive and aesthetically pleasing. Since then, Basilea has been used in various Basel parks and private gardens. It's a piece of furniture for everyone: the endless steel band, 80 centimeters deep and 75 centimeters high, can be used as a chair with a backrest or as a table with a stool; if you put two of them together, you get a larger table; several units can also be used for an open-air workshop. Basilea can be used for everything: playing, taking a break, eating, entertaining, and its sturdiness and versatility stimulate the imagination and the pleasure of playing.
