The Miro, a compact wooden chair with a pure style, is a reissue of the internationally renowned designer Hannes Wettstein (1958 - 2008). With his sensitivity to form, size and proportion, Wettstein, who sought the essence of things in his designs, created a very harmonious design with a sovereign and discreet elegance.
The stacking chair 687 S, which was awarded the "Die gute Form" prize in 1958, was produced in 1950 and carefully reproduced by Hannes Wettstein: The profile of the inner side of the front leg was rounded off, the seat tapered towards the backrest. By modifying the inclination of the rear frame and the seat upholstery, the chair is even more ergonomic. Thanks to its reserved character, the miro model can be used in many private rooms but also in public areas such as restaurants. It was already present as a stacking chair in its classic, unassuming form in the 6/100 model in the large brasserie at Expo 64 in Lausanne, Switzerland, as shown in the colour photo in the Horgenglarus catalogues.
The Miro model marks a new beginning for Horgenglarus. The Miro model is one of the most famous chairs. It was the basis for a large collection of chairs created by Hannes Wettstein until 2007.
