East River Chair

"The East River Chair by Hella Jongerius is a remarkable small armchair made of different materials such as wood, metal, leather and fabric. The careful combination of colours and materials is not only for aesthetic reasons: the practical leather upholstery protects the armrests from dirt and wear, and the thick upholstery of the seat cushion provides comfortable lumbar support.

Seat shell: laminate.
Upholstery: Polyurethane foam covered with fabric or leather.
Upholstery: Premium leather and various fabrics (Laser, Hopsak, Plano) in matching colour combinations.
Seat height: 400 mm (330 mm with applied load, measured according to EN 1335-1).
Legs: legs in natural oak with steel crossbars, ivory powder-coated, or legs in dark oak with steel crossbars, coffee powder-coated.
Glides: plastic glides for carpets, additional felt glides for hard flooring, also jointed.
Origin of wood: oak (Quercus robur) from Western Europe and/or Poland".
