Customers in northern countries often complained that they could not find fixtures to match their Scandinavian furniture. Tuula Jusélius from Secto thought the same thing; there were no wooden lamps on the market. Seppo Koho was therefore chosen to design the first Secto Design lighting collection. Seppo Koho and Secto Design both share a respect for wood and the design of the North. The collaboration is therefore perfect. The light source is hidden inside the lamp to avoid dazzling people in the room. The warm light reflects on the birch tree and underlines the space by creating a welcoming environment. Secto Design lamps are handcrafted in Finland. The wood comes from Central Finland and is therefore only transported over short distances. Secto Design, a company that is highly committed to ecological issues, sources its wood locally. Wood waste is recycled, for example, for firewood.
